Every now and then the Members and Staff do something completely different to the general day-to-day activities. Check back here regularly to find out what has been going on at The Otium Centre.
During our short break to Dorset in July 2024 we visited Monkey World and chose to 'adopt' a chimpanzee called Lulu.
Lulu is a female chimp who arrived at Monkey World on 14/10/00 and it is estimated that she was born in 1992. She was born in a circus travelling through Cyprus when her mother attacked her and bit her arm. Lulu's arm became infected and a Cypriot family saved her life by taking her home and getting their doctor to amputate the poisonous limb. She gets along very well without her right arm so much so that most people do not realise she is an amputee.
We all agreed she was the perfect one for us.
Our Members' birthdays are celebrated with bespoke decorated cakes. Now these can be made to your design and for all special occasions. We have a brochure with design ideas and can make vanilla or chocolate sponges, gluten-free cakes, filled with buttercream or jam and topped with fondant icing decorations. Give us a call or an email to ask to see our brochure or for an order form. (Collection only)

Fritton Owl Sanctuary - fundraising events
We have had a really fun week of fundraising in support of Fritton Owl Sanctuary. We have baked and sold delicious owl-shaped biscuits and also dressed up in either PJ's or colourful clothes. A massive thank you to everyone who supported this worthy cause and we hope it helps towards the expense of the alterations that need to take place. We are really looking forward to visiting the owls again once they have settled into their new enclosures. Debs, Darrell, Inês, Stephen, Jono, Layla and Jay were delighted to present Louise with a cheque for £385.50.
