The Otium Centre is a privately-owned day provision for young adults from the age of 18 upwards who have additional needs, learning difficulties and/or physical disability. We are situated in Oulton, making us ideally situated for members in northern Suffolk, Waveney and southern Norfolk.
The Otium Centre is a modern and fun-loving day care facility with a relaxed, warm and welcoming atmosphere. Our aim is to also provide the tools necessary for you to achieve your full potential in a safe and happy environment and to provide a wide selection of interesting, integrated and useful activities that can be tied to your personal goals. We work in quite a structured way, both to advance the identified specific goals that have been agreed, and to take advantage of any educational opportunities so far gained and to help expand and develop them further.
We believe at The Otium Centre that all individuals have the right to be treated equally, with respect and dignity. Through our diverse range of activities, we can support you in either working towards your personal achievement goals , to develop as much social confidence and independence as possible. as well as enjoy a hobby or interest.
We believe that socialisation and interactive skills are important - planning together, preparing together, eating together; talking together; being together, are healthy and progressive and rewarding and should be encouraged. We encourage all Members to participate and make choices; to learn about responsibilities; to try new things and to develop physical and social skills and to strengthen mental wellbeing.
